General information

I take pictures outdoors on location (local park, forest preserve, etc.), in your home or any other at your choice.

Sessions are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. I want the shoot to be an enjoyable experience for everyone so there is always time for a break if needed!

Newborn Sessions

Newborn sessions last 2-4 hours to include diaper changes and feedings. The best time to book your newborn session is within the first 4-10 days after they are born. Babies are nice and sleepy and are the perfect little models during this time. After 10 days it is increasingly difficult to get the newborn sleeping poses and baby acne begins to appear at this time. Please contact me before you deliver so I can make sure I have the flexibility in my schedule around your due date.

Since we want newborn babies to be nice and sleepy for the session, please try to keep them awake for 1-2 hours before our session. You can feed them right before we begin so their tummies will be nice and full and they will be ready to nap.

Maternity Sessions

It is best to photograph maternity sessions around your 33rd week of pregnancy. At this point, you are absolutely glowing! Your belly has popped, yet you are still comfortable enough to do some posing. It’s best to schedule your maternity session as soon as you decide you’d like to do it.

Outdoor Sessions

For outdoor photos, the best time of day to take advantage of natural light is early morning just after sunrise or 1-2 hours before sunset. I highly recommend that you schedule outdoor sessions during these times if possible.

With children, it always helps if their tummies are full and that we don't interrupt their daily nap time. We always havetime for a little break/snack if needed - the session will be stress-free and fun for everyone!

Although clothing is your choice, I am happy to make suggestions that will photograph well! Family and couple shots look best when clothes are color coordinated - not necessarily the same color but matching colors; it is best to avoid graphic tees and prints which are distracting in pictures.

Newborns are photographed in their birthday suits or blankets so there is no need to bring clothing, however, if you have any cute hats or headbands, you are welcome to bring them to the shoot.

We can discuss the location options, time, and any questions you may have by e-mail or over the phone before your session.
